Hatyai Airport Sees Decline in Tourists; May Soon Be Closed Down

The Airports of Thailand (AOT) is considering to close down two of the six airports it owns, namely Hatyai International Airport in Songkhla and Mae Fah Luang – Chiang Rai International Airport, according to The Nation. This may take place in the next five to six years.

The two airports have seen a decline in tourists in recent years. In the case of Hatyai International Airport, there has been a drop in tourist arrivals especially from neighbouring countries like Malaysia.

A Decade Later, Coming Full Circle

The past two years in Penang had been ones of challenges, hard work, learning, and growth. I remember reflecting upon the major events that happened during my time there and feeling amazed at how far I had come. At the end of 2018, I felt both comforted and relieved that there was going to be some positive progress with my life and career.

Then, suddenly, half of 2019 has come and gone, and August 2019 is coming to an end in an hour’s time. Where has time gone?

Some of my friends have probably known that I left INTI International College Penang for Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) in January 2019. What is amazing to me, is that UTAR was the very place where I started my career as an educator some ten years ago!
